Susan McGurn


Susan has been in the business of fitness since 1990 as a group exercise instructor, personal trainer, program manager and leading the NY BFIT University Instructor Training program for one of the nation's largest largest health club chains, Bally Total Fitness for 17 years.

Susan was introduced to the Pilates principle of exercise on the reformer in 1999 by Elizabeth Larkam, director of Pilates and Beyond, and who is internationally recognized as an innovator in mind body movement. She holds certificates from BASI, Balanced Body Pilates, American Council on Exercise (ACE) for group and personal training, and licensed to teach Yoga Tune-Up® with specialty certificates in Yoga Tune Up® Ball Therapy.

Susan is well versed in Pilates Mat work with ring, roller, bands and ball as well as using unique props in Yoga Tune Up® to design programs based on individual needs, challenges and goals. Maria Ochakovsky-Gomez


Maria first began her career in the fitness industry at Bally Total Fitness in 2004 as a group exercise instructor and program coordinator. She has taught at various fitness clubs throughout NYC and Long Island and most recently held a position as the Group Exercise Director for Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness in Garden City, NY.

Maria holds a Primary Group Exercise certification through the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AAFA) and has completed training with Mat from PHI Pilates, and is certified in Mat and Reformer from STOTT PILATES®. She continues to advance her studies through the Intensive curriculum offered by STOTT PILATES®.

Maria's passion for Pilates is rewarding one as she continues to educate herself and absorb as much knowledge through her studies and continuing education. She believes Pilates will preserve the body long term and is passionate about engaging her clients with the mind body connection and rehabilitation of Pilates.

Carol Iovino


Carol discovered yoga in 1998 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, followed with a severe case of sciatica. Finding that the practice of yoga relieved both pain and stress she decided to deepen her practice and attended a yoga teacher training class.

Carol studied at OmSweetOm in Port Washington. She leads a breath focused alignment based vinyasa flow class that combines her deep love of movement with the practice of yoga. In her classes, students learn to embrace their divine true self within. Carol believes that it is such a privilege to be able to practice something she enjoys every day, and to be able to share that knowledge with others.

Laura Zevallos


Laura has been a fitness instructor for more than 10 years. Among some of the classes that she instructs are: Yoga, Spin, Strength Conditioning, Pilates and Fitness classes for Seniors. She is certified in Thai Yoga massage by the Integral Institute of NYC. She continues to study to enhance her ability in her healing work.

Margaret Maher


Margaret has over 20 years experience teaching multiple formats of group fitness. She managed group fitness programs in the Long Island market for Bally Total Fitness where she was introduced to her first Pilates mat class through Balanced Body. Since then her passion for Pilates has grown, she has taken many workshops with Stott Pilates and Peak Pilates. She holds certifications with Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), "Pilates Principles" - Fit Tour I & II, Pilates Mat with Balanced Body and recently added to her library of knowledge - Balanced Body Reformer.
